She has a Name!!

Jan 30, 2023

The Jane Doe discovered in 1988 on a farm in Owen county, Kentucky now has a name! She is Linda Bennett, a Columbus, Ohio mother who was reported missing not long after her body was discovered.

In February of 2022, the Kentucky state police partnered with Othram, a company that utilizes the latest in DNA technology, in hopes of establishing her identity. Othram has a tremendous track record solving cold cases and they did not disappoint. In December of 2022, the Kentucky State Police reported the Owen County Jane Doe had been identified as Linda Bennett.

As I discussed in my original coverage of this case, I believe she was the victim of Samuel Little, a prolific serial killer who has confessed to killing over 90 people. Stay tuned for a video episode update soon for a much deeper look at how we know what we now know and where the investigation goes from here!

If you have any information about this case please contact Detective Johnson of the Kentucky State Police (Post 5 ) at 502-532-6363. Please reference agency case number 05-88-0277 or NamUs ID UP101.
